Creamy Potato Bake

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 100g Butter
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 500 ml Full Cream Milk (If you want it runnier add more milk)
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 200g Grated Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  1. Start by slicing your potatoes into thin slices.

To make the sauce

  1. In a medium sized pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk for 1 minute, then slowly add the milk, whisking continuously.
  2. Add the garlic, salt, and pepper and cook, whisking often, for 2 to 3 mins. Add 100g of grated cheese and mix until melted.
  3. Add the sliced potatoes to a dish and pour the sauce on top.
  4. Cover with grated cheese.
  5. Cover and bake for 30 mins, then uncover and bake for 35 to 40 mins, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese on top is browned. Let stand at room temperature for 20 mins before serving.
