This Pepperoni Cheese Toasted Sandwich is a quick and delicious meal, perfect for lunch or a light dinner. With gooey melted cheese, spicy pepperoni, and crispy toasted bread, it’s a crowd-pleaser that’s easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread (your choice: white, whole wheat, sourdough)
  • 8 slices of pepperoni
  • 4 slices of cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or your favorite)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Optional: marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your pan: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. Butter the bread: Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Assemble the sandwiches: Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a cutting board. Layer each with 2 slices of cheese, 4 slices of pepperoni, and another 2 slices of cheese. Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
  4. Toast the sandwiches: Place the assembled sandwiches in the preheated skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Press down lightly with a spatula to help the sandwiches toast evenly.
  5. Serve and enjoy: Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool slightly before cutting them in half. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.
